Fitness trainer Yuri Averyanov named an effective exercise for gaining muscle mass. His words are quoted by Pravda.ru.
The specialist advised to pay attention to the Yates deadlift – an exercise named after the titled bodybuilder Dorian Yates. According to him, this is something between the classic bent-over barbell row and barbell shrugs.
“Unlike the bent-over row, where the position of the body tends to be parallel to the floor, the angle between the body and the vertical in the Yates row is about 30 degrees. This is necessary to shift the load in favor of the trapezius and rhomboid muscles of the back,” noted Averyanov. He added that the bent-over row involves moving the elbows back, and during the Yates row, the elbows should not only go back, but also slightly upward.
Previously, traumatologist Emma Burgon-Kibsey recommended one exercise to reduce back pain. The specialist suggested doing an exercise to hold the hamstrings.
