After spending a year and two months in prison, Daniel Alves awaits the judgment of his appeals on provisional release. This Saturday morning, the former player sentenced to four and a half years in prison on charges of raping a young woman denied in his Instagram who gave an interview to the Catalan newspaper The newspaperhow it was announced on Friday.
“It’s not true that I granted an interview to any media outlet, and I won’t do so until the legal process is resolved,” the athlete wrote on his social network.
The media outlet published quotes from the former athlete, in what would have been an exclusive interview. “Wherever I go, I survive. I adapt to everything, because for me it’s not the place that makes the person, but the person that makes the place”, Daniel was quoted as saying. The newspaperas well as allegedly describing himself as “calm and well”.
The former player was released from jail on March 25, when he paid bail of around R$5 million. Daniel Alves was accused of raping a young woman in December 2022, in Barcelona-ESP, and is currently on provisional release, awaiting analysis by the latest instances of the Catalan court.
