Dani Alves, accused of rape, said he will survive wherever he is
Brazilian footballer Dani Alves has spoken out for the first time since leaving prison. His words are quoted by El Periodico.
“Wherever I end up, I will survive. I adapt to everything, because it is not the place that makes the person, but the person the place. Now I feel good and calm,” said Alves. He also noted that he comes to court every Friday to check in.
On February 22, the football player was sentenced to 4.5 years in prison in the case of raping a girl in a nightclub in 2022. A month later, a Barcelona court agreed to temporarily release Alves on bail of one million euros. Afterwards, Alves hosted a party at his mansion.
Alves became the champion of France, Italy, Spain and won the national cups of these countries. As a member of the Brazilian national team, the defender won the Olympic Games and the World Youth Championship, and also won the America’s Cup and the Confederations Cup twice each.
