Peskov: Macron’s accusations about Russia’s desire to disrupt the 2024 Olympics are unacceptable
Kremlin official Dmitry Peskov appreciated the words of French President Emmanuel Macron about Russia’s desire to disrupt the 2024 Olympic Games. He is quoted by TASS.
“These are absolutely unfounded accusations – in both the first and second cases. They are often heard, but are never supported by any adequate evidence or argumentation,” said the press secretary of the Russian President. Peskov called such accusations absolutely unacceptable.

Macron previously told the BBC that Russia was jeopardizing the Olympics. In his opinion, Russia is conducting a disinformation campaign with the aim of disrupting the tournament.
In December 2023, Russians and Belarusians were allowed to participate in the Olympics in Paris as individual neutral athletes. At the same time, athletes who support a special operation in Ukraine, as well as those who have connections with the armed forces or security agencies of Russia and Belarus, will not be allowed to participate in the competition. In addition, representatives of team sports will miss the tournament.
