Qarabag was accused of leaking confidential data about the Russian goalkeeper

Agent Smirnov accused Karabakh of leaking confidential data about Lunev

Anton Smirnov, the agent of Russian goalkeeper Andrei Lunev, accused Qarabag of leaking confidential data. His words are quoted by RB Sport.

Information appeared in the Azerbaijani media that Lunev requested a three-fold increase in salary – from 200 to 600 thousand euros per year. Smirnov called the behavior of the club representatives strange and unacceptable.

The agent emphasized that if Qarabag continues to disclose the nuances of the negotiation process, then Lunev will consider options for moving to another club. “We regard this as pressure on the player in order to create a negative reputation for him,” Smirnov noted.

Lunev has been playing for Qarabag since August 2023. On March 29, he became the champion of Azerbaijan as part of the club. Previously, together with the team, the goalkeeper reached the 1/8 finals of the Europa League, where he lost to Bayer, for whom the Russian played from 2021 to 2023.

From 2017 to 2021, Lunev represented Zenit St. Petersburg. Together with the blue-white-blue team, he became the champion of Russia three times. The goalkeeper also has seven matches in the Russian national team.
