With three from Palmer, Chelsea beats Manchester United in a spectacular comeback for the Englishman

This Thursday, in the 31st round of the English Championship, Chelsea achieved an incredible victory. The team beat Manchester United, at Stamford Bridge, 4-3, in a game that was marked by turnovers. Cole Palmer, who spiked three times, was the highlight of the Blues.

With the historic triumph, Chelsea moves up to tenth place, with 43 points scored. United, given the setback, remain in sixth place with 48 points, nine behind Tottenham, in fifth place.

For the 32nd round of the English Championship, Manchester United, this Sunday, faces rival Liverpool, at Anfield, at 11:30 am (Brasília time). Chelsea, in turn, on the same day, faces Sheffield United, at Bramall Lane, at 1:30 pm.

The goals

Chelsea opened the scoring just 4 minutes into the first half. Shirt number 20 Conor Gallagher received the ball inside the penalty area and finished strongly. The home team extended their lead shortly after, at the 19-minute mark, as United’s Brazilian Antony committed a penalty to Cucurella. Young Cole Palmer took the charge and didn’t waste it, scoring the London team’s second.

United’s reaction began in the first half, with Alejandro Garnacho. In the 34th minute, the Argentine striker counted on a mistake from Caicedo, from Chelsea, to receive the ball, advance and touch the goalkeeper.

At 54 minutes, in stoppage time, Chelsea snatched the equalizer. Diogo Dalot brought down Madueke inside the area and the referee, with the help of VAR, signaled the maximum penalty. From the kick, Cole Palmer converted again.

The goal that gave Chelsea victory in an epic comeback came in the 56th minute. Cole Palmer received a pass from Enzo Fernández and finished. The ball was deflected by the defense to kill Onana and find the net.
