This Thursday, Valencia beat Granada 1-0 in a match valid for the 26th round of the Spanish Championship, which was delayed. The game took place at the Nuevo Los Cármenes stadium. The goal of the match was scored by Portuguese midfielder André Almeida.

The game should have been held at the end of February, but was postponed due to a tragic accident in Valencia. At the time, a large fire occurred in the city that left ten dead and several people injured.

With the result, the visitors overtake Real Betis and move up to seventh place, with 44 points from 30 games. The home team remains in 19th place, with 14 points, and is close to relegation in the competition.

Valencia returns to the field next Monday, at 4pm (Brasília time), against Osasuna, away from home, in the 31st round of LaLiga. While Granada hosts Alavés this Sunday, at 11:15 am.

Granada created several opportunities in the first half, but failed to score. The home team even hit the post with a shot from outside the box by Gerard Gumbau, in the 18th minute.

In the final stage, Valencia took control of the game and opened the scoring in the 32nd minute. After a corner, Granada’s defense cleared it and the ball fell to Portuguese midfielder André Almeida, who dominated the chest and finished low to find the net.
