Last weekend, Nongbua Pitchaya secured access to the Thai League, the first division of Thai football, three rounds in advance. Striker Júnior Batista’s team has gone 11 consecutive matches without defeat and beat Krabi 5-2.
“Firstly, I want to thank God for everything he has done in my life. I’m very happy to be living everything I once dreamed of. Things here in Thailand happened very quickly. It is very gratifying to see your work being valued and recognized in some way.”
With access guaranteed, the focus is now on winning the Thai League 2 title. The club leads the competition with 69 points, three more than second-placed Nakhhon Ratchasima, opponents in the penultimate round of the competition.
“In this final stretch there is no easy game, so we have to remain focused on our objective with a lot of dedication, doing our part and adding points. We have to forget about our opponents, continue working hard and if God allows us, we will seek this title and close this season with excellence”.
In the next round, Nongbua will face Lampang, seventh in the championship, away from home.
