Striker Endrick Felipe, Palmeiras’ jewel, is the most valuable athlete in the world outside the big five European leagues (Spain, England, France, Italy and Germany), alongside Swedish center forward Viktor Gyokeres, from Sporting. The young Brazilian, just 17 years old, even surpassed Al-Hilal star Neymar Júnior.
According to data from the specialized website Transfermarkt, Endrick is valued at 55 million euros (around R$297 million). One of the reasons for the increase in its market value was the Data FIFA friendlies in March. The striker scored the winning goal for Brazil over England 1-0 and found the net for the first time at the Santiago Bernabéu, the stadium of Real Madrid, his future club, in a 3-3 draw with Spain.
Endrick even surpassed Al-Hilal star Neymar Júnior, who is currently valued at 45 million euros (R$247 million). Striker Malcom, who has spent time at Barcelona, Corinthians and Zenit, and midfielder João Neves, one of Benfica’s great promises, were also surpassed by the Brazilian national team’s center forward.
The athlete who plays on Brazilian soil who is closest in value to Palmeiras’ number 9 is midfielder André, from Fluminense, valued at 25 million euros (R$137 million). Center forward Pedro, from Flamengo, and midfielders Raphael Veiga and Luís Guilherme, from Palmeiras, complete the top 5.
Endrick should enter the field again for Palmeiras next Sunday, at 6pm (Brasília time), against Santos, to play in the second leg of the Campeonato Paulista final. In the first leg, Peixe won 1-0.
Alviverde debuts in the Libertadores this Wednesday, at 9:30 pm, in a duel with San Lorenzo, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, but the 17-year-old striker was rested and will not play in the match.
