Fedotov, after his debut for Philadelphia, said that he wanted to give the team energy
Russian goalkeeper of the Philadelphia Flyers club Ivan Fedotov spoke about his debut in the National Hockey League (NHL). His words are quoted on the league’s website.
“I’m not a young guy, I have some experience and I know how it all works. It doesn’t matter to me whether I leave from the first minutes or during the meeting. The most important thing is to play,” he said, adding that he wants to help the team, give energy and emotion.
Fedotov played for the first time for Philadelphia in a match with the New York Islanders (3:4 in overtime). Before the start of overtime, the Russian mixed up the goal: the opposing goalkeeper Semyon Varlamov approached him and indicated that they should change places.
Fedotov transferred to Philadelphia on March 29. Previously, he terminated his contract with CSKA Moscow.
In the summer of 2022, Fedotov’s attempt to move to Philadelphia failed. The Russian was supposed to go to the United States, but he was detained on suspicion of evading military service. After this, the athlete served a year in the Navy.
