Kerzhakov said that he remained in Serbia after his dismissal from Spartak because of his son
Former Russian national team footballer Alexander Kerzhakov explained the decision to stay in Serbia. His words are quoted by “Championship”.
Kerzhakov said that the family did not leave Serbia after his dismissal from the local Spartak because of his son’s studies. “My son went to school here, to fourth grade. We decided not to drag him anywhere – he will finish his studies here this academic year,” he said. At the same time, the athlete did not rule out the possibility of returning to Russia.
On November 13, Kerzhakov left the post of head coach of Spartak from Subotica by mutual decision of the parties. The specialist has led the team since July 2023.
Kerzhakov is a three-time Russian champion with Zenit. After retiring in 2017, he coached the Russian youth team, as well as the clubs Tom, Nizhny Novgorod and the Cypriot Karmiotissa.
