Bernardo Silva, from City, regrets the draw against Arsenal: “We are not favorites for the title”

This Sunday, for the 30th round of the English Championship, Manchester City e Arsenal starred in a goalless draw at the Etihad Stadium. With the point shared in the direct confrontation, the citizens reached 64 and thus occupy third place in the competition, behind Arsenal (65) and Liverpool (67), who won the round. Portuguese Bernardo Silva, midfielder for the Manchester team, regretted the result and ruled out the club’s favoritism.

“We are no longer favorites for the title. We have to be realistic. A lot can still happen. There are nine games left. But, we don’t depend on us. We depend on Liverpool and Arsenal, we won’t play against them anymore. We need them to lose points and we have to do our job and win the games we have”, said the number 20 to Sky Sports.

The athlete stated that Manchester City started better and had more control of the match, however he also highlighted the balance during the 90 minutes and praised Arsenal.

“It was difficult, because we played against a top team, very well organized, very competitive and with a high tempo. To be honest, I think the victory could have gone either way. I think we started better, but during the game they They were also very good. We had more control, more possession, but they were always dangerous with set pieces and counterattacks. It was difficult to play against Arsenal”, he concluded.

For the 31st round, the citizens return to the pitch, this Wednesday, to welcome Aston Villa, at 4:15 pm (Brasília time). It is worth mentioning that the team has one game less, just like their direct rivals for the English title.
