Reinier scores first goal in 2024, but regrets Frosinone’s draw

Brazilian Reinier scored again in the Frosinone shirt. He left his mark in this Saturday’s 1-1 draw against Genoa, in the 30th round of the Italian Championship. It was the first time that the ex-Flamengo player found the net in 2024 – his last goal had been in November 2023.

“I left the field with a mixed feeling of happiness for having scored again, but upset because I think we could have won,” said Reinier, who continued his analysis.

“We played a good game. In any case, this point away from home is important for us. We have eight more ‘decisions’ ahead of us and we will work hard to keep Frosinone in the elite”, added the athlete, who has played 17 games, scored three goals and two assists for Frosinone.

With the result, Frosinone reached 25 points and, in 18th place, remains firm in the fight to get out of the relegation zone. In the next round, the team hosts Bologna, in a duel scheduled for April 7th, at the Benito Stirpe Stadium.

Loaned by Real Madrid until the end of the season, Reinier began his career at Flamengo, where he had a meteoric rise, moving up to the professional team in 2019 and already being champion of the Brazilian Championship and the Libertadores. For Rubro-Negro, there were six goals and two assists in 15 matches.

At 18, the young man went to Europe, where he initially played for Real Madrid Castilla. Afterwards, to gain experience, he was loaned to Borussia Dortmund, winning the 2020/21 German Cup, scoring one goal and providing one assist in 39 appearances. During this period, he also won Olympic gold with the Brazilian team, in 2021.

In the 2022/23 season, Reinier returned to Spain, to play for Girona, where he entered the field 18 times in La Liga, finding the net on two occasions and providing one assist.
