He Tour of Flanders 2024 is disputed this Sunday, March 31both in his female test as in your men’s race. Specifically, flamenco fans will be able to enjoy the 21st edition of the women’s race and the 108th edition of the men’s event. It is one of the most important events of the season, one of the “monuments”; The Tour of Flanders has a spectacular track record and an enormous tradition, and Euskal Herria fans will also be able to experience it live, with the broadcast, from 12:00 p.m., on ETB and eitb.eus (in ETB, from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. in ETB4, and from 3:00 p.m. in ETB1).

21st Women’s Tour of Flanders

The women’s race begins at 1:25 p.m. in Oudenaarde (Belgium), and the organization’s forecast is for it to finish, in the same town, around 5:45 p.m. Participants must complete a route of 163 kilometers.

The current world road champion, who is the Belgian from the SD Worx team Lotte Kopecky, won the Tour of Flanders in 2023 and 2022, and is, thus, the great favorite to achieve victory in 2024; Kopecky, however, has very high level rivals. Among them, we mention the following cyclists: Marlen Reusser, Demi Vollering and Lorena Wiebes, teammates of the current world champion, the Lidl-Trek riders Elisa Longo Borghini, Elisa Balsamo, Lucinda Brand, Elizabeth Deignan and Shirin van Anrroij , Marianne Vos and Fem van Empel (Visma Leake a Bike), Canyon cyclists Katarzyna Niewiadoma, Zoe Backstedt and Chloe Dygert, and Silvia Persico and Chiara Consonni, from the UAE.

108th Men’s Tour of Flanders

The men’s event will begin at 10:00 a.m. in Antwerp (Belgium), and is scheduled to conclude around 4:30 p.m. in Oudenaarde. It has a route of 270.8 kilometers, which already makes it clear that victory only awaits those who are very, very strong.

One of them may be the Dutch Mathieu van der Poel, from Alpecin-Deceuninck, who wears the rainbow jersey as the current road world champion, and who is the main favorite to succeed Tadej Pogacar in the race’s honors list; The Slovenian from the UAE is not going to defend his 2023 victory, and, as things stand, the focus will be on Van der Poel, winner in 2022 and 2020, and second last year. The Alpecin leader will also not face Wout van Aert (Visma Lease a Bike), who broke his collarbone this Wednesday, in the Via de Flanders.

However, Van der Poel will have to fight with other great cyclists. They are among them Oier Lazkano (Movistar)Christophe Laporte, Matteo Jorgenson, Tiesj Benoot, Dylan van Baarle and Jan Tratnik, (Visma), Mads Pedersen, if he can finally participate, Jasper Stuyven and Toms Skujins (Lidl-Trek), Biniam Girmay, also in doubt, and Mike Teunissen (Intermarché-Wanty), Matej Mohoric (Bahrain Victorious), Alberto Bettiol (EF Education-EasyPost), Tim Wellens (UAE), Arnaud De Lie (Lotto Dstny), Alexander Kristoff (Uno-X) and Matteo Trentin (Tudor).
