This Wednesday, Chelsea announced that midfielder Romeo Lavia is out for the remainder of the season. The player reached London club last year and played just one game with the blue shirt.
Lavia, just 20 years old, was signed by Chelsea from Southampton for around 62 million pounds (390 million reais) in August 2023. At that time, he was already injured. After recovering, he played 33 minutes against Crystal Palace on 27 December for English Championship. After that, a new injury appeared, this time on the thigh.
Midfielder Romeo Lavia will miss the remainder of the 2023/24 season.

“Midfielder Roméo Lavia will unfortunately miss the remainder of our 2023/24 campaign due to a setback in his recovery. Recent medical assessments have confirmed that Lavia, who suffered a significant injury against Crystal Palace in December, will no longer play in the season”, said the club.
In the game in question, Lavia had just 31 touches of the ball and did not contribute to any goals. Chelsea won at home, at Stamford Bridge, 2-1 with goals from Mudryk and Madueke. In an official note released this Wednesday, the club informed that the player suffered a setback in treatment and will no longer be available for the 2023/24 season.
Lavia was the second most expensive reinforcement of the Blues of the European summer window, behind only Moisés Caicedo, who cost 116 million pounds (730 million reais).
