Omsk Avangard reduced the gap to Lokomotiv in the KHL playoff series

Omsk Avangard beat Yaroslavl Lokomotiv on its site in the fifth match of the second round of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) Gagarin Cup playoff series. This was reported by a Lenta.ru correspondent.

The meeting took place on Tuesday, March 26, and ended with a score of 4:2 in favor of the hosts. Tomas Jurcho, Ryan Spooner, Semyon Chistyakov and Reed Boucher scored goals for the winners. Maxim Berezkin and Maxim Shalunov scored for the guests.

Avangard has reduced the gap to Lokomotiv in the series, and Yaroslavl is now ahead with a score of 3-2. The sixth match will take place on March 28 in Yaroslavl.

In the first round of the Gagarin Cup, Lokomotiv knocked out its current owner, CSKA Moscow. Avangard turned out to be stronger than Lada from Tolyatti.

Avangard won the Gagarin Cup in 2021. Lokomotiv has never won a trophy in history.
