Real Madrid studies signing Argentine promise from River Plate

According to the Spanish newspaper Brando Real Madrid is watching young Franco Mastantuono, from River Plate, just 16 years old, for a possible attack. The player became the youngest to score with the Argentine club’s shirt, after scoring against Excursionistas, in the 3-0 victory in the Argentine Cup.

In recent weeks, people sent from Real Madrid, in addition to traveling to Brazil to closely monitor Endrick, from Palm trees, extended the visit to Buenos Aires, to follow the evolution of a group of young people from River Plate who attracted attention, with Mastantuono as the highlight. The left-footed midfielder has been called up to the youth teams of the Argentina.

Seeing the interest of the Spanish team, River Plate acted and renewed Mastantuono’s contract until December 2026 and includes a termination fine of 45 million euros (around R$244 million), reaching 50 million (around R$271 million) in the last ten days of the transfer window. FIFA establishes that minors under 18 cannot have a contract valid for more than three years.

Franco Mastantuono, as he is only 16 years old, will only be able to reach Europe if Real Madrid’s interest turns into an offer, in the middle of 2026, when he will turn 18. This operation is similar to that of Endrick, who will arrive at the multi-time European champion at the end of this season, even with his signing completed in December 2022.
