Legend and current captain of Atlético de Madrid, midfielder Koke renewed his contract with the Spanish club until June 2025. The announcement took place this Monday morning.
Koke is the athlete who has defended Atlético de Madrid the most times in history, with 626 matches played. With another season guaranteed as a colchonero, the midfielder celebrated his stay at the club.
“We reached a good agreement for both parties. I always wanted to stay at the club of my life, I want to be here until I retire. As long as I have the strength and mentality to compete, I will be here, which is what I always dreamed of. I hope to play on the field with all the forces, as I have been doing”, he said.

A graduate of Atlético de Madrid’s own youth teams, Koke has already won eight titles with the Spanish team’s shirt: two Leagues, one Copa del Rey, two Europa Leagues, two European Super Cups and one Spanish Super Cup. He is the second athlete with the most trophies in the club’s history, behind only Adelardo Rodríguez, who has ten.
