Karpin: the last time I spoke with Utkin was when I congratulated him on his birthday
The head coach of the Russian national team and Rostov, Valery Karpin, recalled his last conversation with journalist and commentator Vasily Utkin. His words are quoted by Sport Express.
Karpin said that the last time he communicated with Utkin was when he congratulated him on his birthday on March 6. “As usual, everyone is on the run. There was no time to chat for the life of us. It seemed like we’d still have time… We’d meet and talk… No one could have thought that in 13 days Vasya would be gone,” the coach shared.
