Andreas Pereira and Beraldo, both already managed by Dorival Júnior in their careers, were important players in the Brazilian team’s victory in the friendly against England 1-0, at Wembley, this Saturday. The young defender from São Paulo, currently at Paris Saint-Germain, played during the 90 minutes and showed great confidence in his debut, while the Fulham midfielder, who defended Flamengo in 2022, came on at 26 in the second half and gave the decisive pass for Endrick’s goal.
After the match, Andreas thanked the coach and celebrated the victory.
“(I have) immense gratitude to the teacher for giving me this opportunity to be here with the other players. Representing Brazil, my country, is a childhood dream. It’s a very happy day for me and my family”, celebrated the midfielder.
“The teacher knows that I can help as a midfielder, as a second midfielder, as a midfielder. I’m here to add to my qualities, to do my best”, he concluded.
The young defender credited his good performance to his preparation, Dorival and his experienced Paris Saint-Germain teammate, Marquinhos.
“I prepared a lot for this moment, regardless of the age I was going to arrive (to the National Team). I was able to arrive thanks to God and Dorival for the opportunity to be able to debut with the Brazilian National Team at the age of 20. Marquinhos also gave me a lot of tips for have a little more experience and pass it on to my teammates on the field”, he explained.
“Dorival, since last year, when I was at São Paulo, has always given me a lot of confidence and freedom to play my game and today was no different. Before the game, he talked to me and gave me a lot of confidence to play calmly, I had fun in the game and we were able to come out victorious tonight”, he added.
The Brazilian team will return to the field next Tuesday, against Spain, in a new friendly. The ball rolls at 5:30 pm (Brasília time), at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, in Madrid.
