This Saturday Anfield hosted a commemorative game between the legends of Liverpool and Ajax. Although several stars were on the field, such as Gerrard and Fernando Torres, the biggest protagonist was outside the four lines: coach Sven-Goran Eriksson.
The Swede revealed in January that he had, at best, a year left to live due to terminal cancer. Sven-Goran Eriksson, who managed the English national team, always had the dream of coaching Liverpool, something that never happened. Moved by the statement, the Reds decided to provide him with this moment this Saturday.

The aim of the match was to collect donations of food and health products, such as cereals, milk, chocolates and teas. On the field, Liverpool’s legends beat Ajax’s idols 4-2. The match had almost 60,000 people in the stands.
Currently 76 years old, Sven-Goran Eriksson caught the attention of European football when he won the Europa League in 1982 with Goteborg. From then on, he spent time at Benfica, Roma, Sampdoria and Lazio, always collecting important titles, before taking over the English team, leading the Three Lions in the 2002 and 2006 World Cups.
After leaving the England team, Sven-Goran Eriksson’s career no longer had the same glamor. The Swedish coach managed Manchester City in 2007/08, the Mexican teams. Ivorian and Filipino, Leicester City, as well as Chinese clubs Guangzhou R&F, Shanghai SIPG and Shenzhen.
