James Rodríguez, São Paulo midfielder, reveals his desire to return to Spanish football in the future

This Friday, in a friendly, Colombia beat Spain 1-0, In London. Even though he didn’t score a goal, James Rodríguez, number 10 of the national team and player of the São Paulo, entered the complementary stage and was one of the highlights of the match. The Colombian, in a post-game interview with ESPNrevealed that, in the future, he hopes to return to play in Spanish football.

“When you come to the national team, you always have to do things well. We hope that in the future I can return to LALIGA (Spanish Championship), which is a league I always wanted to play in, I did and, why not, play again?”, said James.

It is worth noting that the player, at the beginning of February, informed the São Paulo board that he wanted to leave the club, trying to terminate his contract. However, changed his mind and decided to stay at Tricolor.

The Colombian number 10 was in Spanish football between 2014 and 2020, playing for Real Madrid. At the club, he played 125 matches, scoring 37 goals and distributing 42 assists. He won two Champions Leaguetwo World Cups and two Spanish Championships.

James’ Colombia returns to the pitch, next Tuesday, to face Romania, at the Cívitas Metropolitano Stadium, at 4:30 pm (Brasília time).
