This Friday, Endrick’s agent, Frederico Pena, revealed some behind-the-scenes details of the Palmeiras striker’s move to Real Madrid. Furthermore, he took a dig at Chelsea. The English club had advanced negotiations with the young man and withdrew from the signing due to the high prices.
The businessman cited Neymar’s transfer to Barcelona as one of the reasons that made the Merengue team sign Endrick and Vinicius Júnior.
“I think Real decided they would never lose another talent like Vini or Endrick after Neymar moved to Barcelona. Maybe it’s a lesson for Chelsea because they were ahead at the beginning,” he said in an interview with the English newspaper The Telegraph.
Pena told some details of the failed negotiation between Chelsea and Palmeiras for Endrick.
“The boy’s parents visited Cobham (Chelsea’s training ground) and were impressed, but Chelsea were worried about the price and so when Real came in and prepared to pay what Palmeiras wanted, it became almost impossible for them,” he reported.
The agent also revealed that the Spanish club was a big dream of Endrick’s father and that the transfer to Real Madrid had the help of another Brazilian player.
“All his father wanted for him was to be a football player and play for Real Madrid, so that was very important to him,” said Pena. “Vini was also able to speak to him and tell him about his own experiences and offer some reassurance. .”
Endrick was called up for the Brazilian team’s friendlies against England and Spain. The clash with the national team of his future teammate Jude Bellingham will be this Saturday, at 4pm (Brasília time), at Wembley.
“It’s a big moment for him, for sure,” Pena said. “He has already played at Maracanã for the Brazilian team, he knows Wembley and knows what it would mean to play there.”

Endrick will also make his debut at the Santiago Bernabéu next Tuesday, at 5:30 pm (Brasília time), against the Spanish side, and Real Madrid fans will have the opportunity to see one of the club’s greatest jewels up close for the first time.
“Then there is the Bernabéu, which will soon be his home. At 17 years old, there’s nothing better than that”, concluded Pena.
