Lewandowski doesn’t score, but Poland beats Estonia and is one step away from the European Championship

Robert Lewandowski can still participate in the Euro Cup: the top scorer of Barcelona did not score, but the selection of Poland beat Estonia 5-1, this Thursday, at the National Stadium in Warsaw, and qualified for the Via A final of the play-off for the European tournamentin which they will face Wales, who beat Finland 4-1.

The Polish team had a calmer game than expected against the Estonians, helped especially by the visitors being left with one player less in the 27th minute of the first half, when full-back Maksim Paskotsi received a red card.

At the time of the expulsion, Poland was already winning 1-0, with a goal from midfielder Przemyslaw Frankowski, in the 22nd minute, who anticipated the defense and crossed the ball, with no chance for the goalkeeper.

In numerical superiority, the Polish team built the rout in the second half by scoring with Piotr Zelinski, in the 5th minute, Jakub Piotrowski, in the 25th, and Sebastian Szymanski, in the 31st, in addition to Karol Mets’ own goal, scored in the 28th minute.

With everything already decided, Estonia scored their goal of honor with Martin Vetkal, in the 33rd minute.

At 35 years old, Lewandowski played the 90 minutes and was very active in attack, despite having a blank. He assisted Piotrowski’s goal and had some opportunities, such as the shot that goalkeeper Karl Hein saved with a great save.
