Dani Alves agreed to be released from custody on bail of 1 million euros
The High Court of Catalonia has agreed to release from custody Brazilian football player Dani Alves, convicted of rape. TASS reports this.
The athlete will be able to get out on bail of 1 million euros. At the same time, he is required to surrender both passports – Spanish and Brazilian. Alves is prohibited from leaving the country and must appear in court as required.
The Brazilian was arrested on January 20, 2023. According to the alleged victim, on December 30, 2022, in one of the nightclubs in Barcelona, the football player locked her in a toilet, where he beat and raped her. The court sentenced him to 4.5 years in prison.
Alves became the champion of France, Italy, Spain and won the national cups of these countries. As part of the Brazilian national team, the defender won the Olympic Games and the World Youth Championship, and also won the America’s Cup and the Confederations Cup twice each.
