Doctor Rezepov: the prison diet of Spartak football player Promes is not bad
A sports doctor who previously worked for the Russian national hockey team, Alexander Rezepov, explained the influence of the prison diet on the form of Spartak Moscow forward Quincy Promes. His words are quoted by Metaratings.
Rezepov said that rice with chicken, which the football player is fed, is a good option for keeping in shape. In his opinion, being in custody will affect Promes, like other athletes being on vacation. “There are more psychological problems here. Closed space, people get depressed,” the doctor said.
On March 13, Promes was arrested in Dubai at the request of the Dutch prosecutor’s office. It was noted that the detention was related to the possibility of further extradition of the football player to the country.
On February 14, an Amsterdam court sentenced Promes in absentia to six years in prison for drug smuggling. In the summer of 2023, he received 18 months in prison in his homeland for attacking his brother with a knife. On February 29, Promes was detained at border control at Dubai Airport for being involved in an accident and leaving the scene. Later it was clarified that the football player would not be sentenced to prison in the UAE; he was to be punished with a fine.
