Figure skater Hendrix condemned Valieva’s doping case and received a response from Gallyamov
Belgian figure skater Luna Hendricks spoke out about Russian doping. Her words are quoted by Sports with reference to Humo.
Hendricks said she was lucky to make the podium due to the absence of Russians at the tournaments. “I understand that I would have won more medals if figure skating were absolutely pure. Take, for example, the Kamila Valieva doping case. The three Russians who made it to the podium (Valieva, Anna Shcherbakova and Alexandra Trusova) approx. “Tapes.ru”), there was the same coach, and one of them was caught,” she condemned the situation, adding that there are also clean Russians better than her.
After criticizing the Russians, she received a response from the world and European champion in pair skating, Alexander Gallyamov. “I always knew that the moon has a strong influence on people, especially in the spring. I didn’t expect that if a person is also named Moon, then this influence is multiplied. Sometimes it is a multiple of the place taken at the Olympics,” he wrote in the Telegram channel.
On January 29, Valieva was disqualified for four years. The period of suspension is counted from the moment the sample was taken in which trimetazidine was found – December 25, 2021. The figure skater lost gold at the European Championships, and Hendrix went to bronze.
On March 1, 2022, the International Skating Union banned Russians from participating in competitions under its auspices. Due to sanctions, skaters were unable to take part in the World and European Championships, as well as in other international tournaments.
