12-year-old figure skater Elena Kostyleva transferred to the Evgeni Plushenko Academy
Figure skater Elena Kostyleva moved to the academy of two-time Olympic champion Evgeni Plushenko. The athlete’s mother Irina Kostyleva reported this to TASS.
“We like him as a coach and as a person, this is the main thing to trust the child,” said Kostyleva Sr. Plushenko noted that they had already conducted two joint training sessions.
Kostyleva masters quadruple jumps – Salchow and toe loop, as well as a triple Axel. She is a member of the Russian youth team, a champion of the Moscow championship and winner of a bronze medal at the national junior championship. Previously, the figure skater studied at the Legend school with Igor Lyutikov, and before that she skated in the team of Eteri Tutberidze.
Plushenko created his own figure skating school in 2017. Currently, the 2024 Russian Championship silver medalist Sofya Muravyova, as well as juniors Veronika Zhilina and Sofia Titova are training under his leadership.
