Journalist Vaitsekhovskaya: Tatyana Tarasova has nothing to apologize to Tutberidze for
Sports journalist Elena Vaitsekhovskaya in her Telegram channel explained the claims of Honored Coach of the USSR Tatyana Tarasova to Eteri Tutberidze.
Vaitsekhovskaya believed that Tarasova formulated a fundamental thing in sports: an athlete takes all medications with the approval of a coach, just as a doctor has no right to recommend a drug to an athlete without agreeing on the recommendation with the coach. In her opinion, based on this, Tarasova has nothing to apologize for.
On March 12, Tarasova said that only a coach could give Valieva a doping drug. In response to this, Tutberidze demanded an official apology, calling the specialist’s words slander.
On January 29, Valieva was disqualified for four years. The athlete was deprived of gold for winning the team tournament at the 2022 Olympic Games as part of the Russian team, as well as the Russian and European champion titles.
