Footballer Andrei Arshavin called the dismissal of coach Ivich from Krasnodar a mistake
Former Russian national team player Andrei Arshavin commented on the dismissal of Serbian Vladimir Ivic from the post of head coach of Krasnodar. His words are quoted by RBC.
Arshavin called the management’s decision a mistake. He drew attention to the fact that Krasnodar was only one point behind Zenit, the leader in the Russian championship, and this could be corrected.
The coach’s dismissal became known earlier on March 13. The reasons for terminating the contract with the Serbian specialist were not indicated. Krasnodar thanked Ivic for his work.
On March 12, Krasnodar was eliminated from the Russian Cup. In the 1/4 finals of the Path of the Regions, the former leader of the Russian Premier League lost to Khimki from the First League with a score of 0:2.
Ivic has worked with Krasnodar since January 2023. His contract ran until the end of 2024. Under the leadership of the Serb, the club went into the winter break in the current Russian championship in first place.
