RBC: Cherchesov and three foreigners became candidates for the post of coach of Spartak
The management of Spartak Moscow has formed a short list of candidates for a possible replacement for the team’s head coach Guillermo Abascal. RBC reports this.
According to the source, the list was headed by former Russian national team coach Stanislav Cherchesov. There are also three foreign specialists among the candidates, whose names are not disclosed. It is noted that the new head coach will be chosen by the board of directors.
Earlier on March 11, journalist Ivan Karpov wrote that the decision to resign Abaskal had already been made. It was noted that the chairman of the board of directors of Spartak, Alexander Matytsyn, should hold a meeting with Cherchesov for a possible appointment.
On March 10, in the match of the 20th round of the RPL, Spartak was defeated by Fakel with a score of 0:2. The Moscow club has 31 points and ranks sixth in the Russian Championship standings. St. Petersburg Zenit is in the lead with 40 points.
