UFC fighters Makhachev and Poirier agreed to fight in June 2024

Mixed style (MMA) fighters Islam Makhachev and Dustin Poirier agreed on a social network X about holding a fight in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) in 2024.

“Islam is in June,” the American wrote. The Russian responded with a repost with the “handshake” and “crossed swords” emoji.

Earlier, Makhachev addressed UFC head Dana White. “Dana, I’m hungry, feed me someone,” the athlete asked.

32-year-old Makhachev leads the UFC rankings regardless of weight categories. In October 2023, he defended his lightweight title for the second time. In total, Makhachev had 26 fights in his career, in which he won 25 victories, suffering only one defeat.

The 35-year-old Poirier scored 30 victories with eight defeats, and another fight was declared invalid. In September 2019, he lost to former UFC champion Russian Khabib Nurmagomedov.
