Boxer Johnson said the US was furious over Putin’s interview with Tucker Carlson
Former American boxer Kevin Johnson spoke about the reaction of his compatriots to Russian President Vladimir Putin’s interview with journalist Tucker Carlson. His words are quoted by TASS.
“Everyone in America is freaking out about this. That’s exactly what made the interview so cool. He pissed off CNN, CBS, FOX, every news channel. Everyone was amazed that he took it and did it. Checkmate. It was cool,” said the athlete. He added that everyone in the United States speaks negatively about the fact that Carlson came to Russia.
On January 9, Johnson received a Russian passport. Before that, he changed his name in honor of Russian President Vladimir Putin. The boxer noted that now his name will be Kevin Vladimirovich, and emphasized that he wanted to pay the greatest compliment to the President of Russia.
44-year-old Johnson had 60 fights in the professional ring, in which he scored 36 victories. In the last fight, which took place on February 17, the athlete defeated Irishman Sean Turner by knockout in the fourth round.
