Hockey player Kuznetsov called his last chance an exchange to the NHL club Carolina

Russian forward Evgeny Kuznetsov commented on the fact that the National Hockey League (NHL) Washington Capitals traded him to the Carolina Hurricanes. His words are quoted by The Hockey News.

The hockey player called the exchange his last chance. “I’ve never run away from the mistakes I’ve made in the past,” he said.

The exchange became known on March 8. Kuznetsov was put up for the waiver draft on March 2. On the same day, he completed the NHL Player Assistance Program, which he began a month earlier. The program works with hockey players suffering from psychological problems, as well as alcohol or drug addiction. In 2019, Kuznetsov was disqualified for using cocaine.

Kuznetsov has played for Washington since 2014. Together with the club, he won the Stanley Cup in 2018.
