Figure skater Medvedeva said she closed messages after a photo shoot for Maxim
Russian figure skater Evgenia Medvedeva, in an interview with the YouTube channel “BeS Comments”, spoke about the reaction of men to her candid photo shoot.
The athlete recalled how she posed for the cover of Maxim magazine. After that, she had to close personal messages on social networks, as men began sending her photographs of their genitals. “They started sending things that you wouldn’t wish on your enemy. Without censorship,” Medvedeva said.
The magazine with the figure skater on the cover was published on April 1, 2022. The athlete stated that she agreed to the filming because she was “no longer 15 years old” at that time. She also admitted that participation in the photo shoot was a kick in recognizing her sexuality.
Medvedeva is a two-time world and European champion. At the 2018 Olympic Games in Pyeongchang, the athlete won a silver medal, losing to compatriot Alina Zagitova. She announced her retirement in December 2021.
