Former UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov said that life is happier without money
Former champion of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Khabib Nurmagomedov, in an interview published on Nurlan Saburov’s VKontakte page, compared life with and without money.
The athlete said that life is happier without money and called it a problem. “I had a life when I had no money. A person should always need something,” Nurmagomedov considered.
In October 2023, Nurmagomedov said that he was offered $40 million to return to the Octagon, but he refused. The ex-fighter emphasized that his decision is irrevocable.
Nurmagomedov defended his UFC lightweight title three times before retiring in 2020. In total, the athlete won 29 victories in 29 professional fights in mixed martial arts. After finishing his performances, Nurmagomedov began coaching. In 2022, MMA Junkie named him the best trainer of the year.
