CAS published the reasoning part of the decision on the appeal against the removal of the ROC
The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) published on its website the reasoning part of the decision on the appeal against the suspension of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC).
On February 23, CAS rejected the ROC’s appeal against the provisional suspension imposed by the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
The ROC’s appeal was registered with CAS on November 6 last year. The Russian side asked to cancel the IOC decision and restore full membership in the structure of the organization.
On October 12, 2023, the IOC suspended the ROC until further notice due to the inclusion of representatives of the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions into the organization. The suspension stipulates that the ROC will not function as a national Olympic committee or receive funding from the Olympic movement.
