Former UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov said he has not retired from coaching
Former champion of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Khabib Nurmagomedov answered a question about continuing his coaching career. His words are quoted by Middle Easy.
Nurmagomedov said that he has not retired from coaching. “Sometimes I go to the gym, share my experience with all my brothers. This is not about me leaving coaching, but about working in the corner, fight week and so on. I’m done with this,” he said.
Nurmagomedov previously said that he was offered $40 million to return to the Octagon. “Ending my career was not an easy decision, but if it is made, that’s it, it’s over,” he emphasized.
Nurmagomedov defended his UFC lightweight title three times before retiring in 2020. In total, the athlete won 29 victories in 29 professional fights in mixed martial arts. After finishing his performances, Nurmagomedov began coaching. In 2022, MMA Junkie named him the best trainer of the year.
