Spartak was allowed to play on its home field

The RFU allowed Spartak to play the Russian Cup match with Orenburg on its home field

The Russian Football Union (RFU) allowed Spartak Moscow to play matches of the Russian Championship and the National Cup on its home field. This was reported in the organization’s Telegram channel.

The RFU said that together with the commission of the Russian Premier League (RPL) for the admission of fields, they carried out a new mandatory inspection of the field. According to the new decision, Spartak will be able to host Orenburg in the return match of the 1/4 finals of the Russian Cup, which will be held on March 14.

On February 29, the RPL banned Spartak from playing the 20th round match against Fakel Voronezh on its home field. The RPL stated that the lawn at the Lukoil Arena stadium does not comply with the regulations and standards of the RFU. It was noted that the reason was a record amount of snow falling in Moscow, which caused the quality of the young lawn surface to suffer.

The match between Spartak and Fakel is scheduled to take place on March 10. The meeting will take place at Luzhniki.
