Head coach of the Russian national team Valery Karpin named an expanded team composition for friendly matches with Serbia and Paraguay. This was reported on the website of the Russian Football Union (RFU).
Among the players included in the list were Monaco midfielder Alexander Golovin and Real Sociedad midfielder Arsen Zakharyan. In total, there are 38 surnames in the composition.
Karpin noted that the final lineup will be announced after the 20th round of the Russian Premier League (RPL). “Perhaps there will be other candidates who are not on this list, but in total about 25 field players will be called up. The training camp itself, due to the postponement of the 21st round, will begin on March 14-15,” the coach added.
The Russian national team will play two friendly matches in Moscow at the VTB Arena stadium in March. On March 21, Karpin’s team will play against Serbia, and four days later they will meet with Paraguay.
