Spartak legionnaire Quincy Promes has still not been able to fly out of Dubai
The Dutch legionary of Spartak Moscow, Quincy Promes, still cannot fly to St. Petersburg from Dubai. The location of the player became known to RIA Novosti, which cites a source familiar with the situation.
On February 29, the football player was detained at border control at Al Maktoum Airport in Dubai. The Dutchman was taken to the police station and was accompanied by red and white security officers. Later, Spartak called the situation with Promes difficult.
On February 14, an Amsterdam court sentenced Promes in absentia to six years in prison. According to investigators, in 2019 the player was involved in transporting a large shipment of cocaine that belonged to Surinamese drug trafficker Piet Wartel. After the verdict was announced, the winger was put on the international wanted list.
In the summer of 2023, a court in the Netherlands sentenced Promes to 18 months in prison. The football player was found guilty of attacking his brother with a knife. Both convictions are under appeal.
