Daniil Medvedev announced his readiness to play at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris
Russia’s first racket Daniil Medvedev spoke about the possibility of playing at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. His words are quoted by TASS.
The athlete noted that if he is allowed to compete and is healthy, he is ready to compete at the Games. “Obviously calendar-wise it will be a crazy year for everyone playing in Paris. Now hard is normal, then clay, grass, clay and immediately, without any rest at all, Canada,” Medvedev said.
The tennis player took part in the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo. The Russian was eliminated in the quarter finals.
In December 2023, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) decided to admit Russians and Belarusians to the 2024 Olympic Games. Athletes will be able to take part in the tournament as individual neutral athletes. At the same time, citizens who support a special military operation in Ukraine, as well as those who have connections with the armed forces or security agencies of Russia and Belarus, will not get to Paris. In addition, representatives of team sports will miss the tournament.
