Metaratings: convicted Spartak player Promes was not allowed on the plane in Dubai
Spartak Moscow forward Quincy Promes, convicted in absentia in Amsterdam for drug trafficking, was unable to fly with the team from the training camp in the UAE. This is reported by Metaratings.
According to the source, the legionnaire was not allowed on the plane from Dubai to Moscow. It is noted that the incident is not related to criminal cases in the Netherlands.
On February 14, an Amsterdam court sentenced Promes in absentia to six years in prison. According to investigators, in 2019 the player was involved in transporting a large shipment of cocaine that belonged to Surinamese drug trafficker Piet Wartel.
In addition, in June 2023, a Dutch court sentenced Promes in absentia to 18 months in prison. The attacker was then found guilty of involvement in an armed attack and stabbing his cousin.
