Russian forward of the Columbus Blue Jackets Dmitry Voronkov started a fight in the National Hockey League (NHL) match against the New York Rangers. This was reported by a Lenta.ru correspondent.

The incident occurred in the third period. Rangers player Will Killy made a power move near the boards against Columbus defender Ivan Provorov. Voronkov, who was nearby, stood up for his compatriot and struck the Canadian several times.

The judges had to intervene in the fight. As a result, Voronkov and Kylly were given five-minute penalties.

The meeting ended with a score of 4:1 in favor of the Rangers. Russian forward Artemy Panarin was recognized as the best player of the match, who scored a double and an assist among the winners.
