Russian New York Rangers forward Artemy Panarin became the first star of the National Hockey League (NHL) regular season match against the Columbus Blue Jackets. This was reported on the league website.

Panarin is the third player in Rangers history to score at least four 80-point seasons. The Russian has 82 points (35 goals and 47 assists) in 60 matches in the current season.

On February 17, Panarin and his wife Alisa Znarok had a second son. In January 2023, the birth of the family’s first child, son Luke, was announced.

Panarin has been playing for the Rangers since 2019. The 32-year-old Russian’s contract with the club for a total amount of $81.5 million runs until 2026.
