Champion synchronized swimmer Kolesnichenko said that she has no problems with motivation
Three-time Olympic champion in synchronized swimming Svetlana Kolesnichenko spoke about problems with motivation after the removal of Russian athletes from international competitions. Her words are quoted by Match TV.
According to the synchronized swimmer, she is okay with this. “This is my job, I’m sorry, we get money for this. It’s like I go to work every day, and it brings me pleasure – two in one,” Kolesnichenko said.
According to her, there are now many alternative tournaments held for Russians. “Everything is done in our country to ensure that the athlete does not lose motivation,” she emphasized.
On September 4 last year, it became known that the World Aquatics bureau allowed Russian athletes to participate in tournaments in a neutral status. Athletes will only be able to take part in events where the time or result is determined by the performance of one person. There are no such disciplines in synchronized swimming at the Games.
