Cherchesov urged not to call young football players talented, so as not to ruin
Former head coach of the Russian national team Stanislav Cherchesov urged not to call young football players talented. His words are quoted by TASS.
“I don’t really like the word “talent”, I like the word “ability”. If a boy is told that he is talented, it can ruin him, but his abilities can be developed,” he explained.
Earlier, Cherchesov discussed the level of football in the country. The specialist said that he does not agree with the statement about the degradation of Russian football. In his opinion, the level did not fall, but became different.
On February 28, 2022, Russian national teams and clubs were excluded from international tournaments. Teams do not compete in European competitions, and the Russian national team lost the opportunity to compete for access to the final part of the 2022 World Cup and does not participate in the Euro 2024 qualifications.
