Slovak Olympic medalist condemned hockey players playing in Russia

Olympic medalist Pospisil said that the KHL serves as a propaganda tool

Olympic bronze medalist Christian Pospisil expressed his opinion about the Slovaks’ game in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). His words are quoted by Sport Aktuality.

The athlete said that he would never go to Russia, since the KHL serves as a propaganda tool. “I would be ashamed of the Slovak national team if hockey players from the KHL played in it,” he condemned his compatriots.

27-year-old Pospisil plays for the Czech club Kometa from Brno. As part of the Slovakian national team, he won bronze at the 2022 Olympics.

In September 2022, the Slovak Hockey Federation announced that they intend to call up hockey players to the national team in accordance with their current form, regardless of which league they play in. However, in March the organization changed its decision, refusing to cooperate with hockey players from the KHL.
