The Slovenian Jan Tratnik (Visma-Lease) has been awarded this Saturday the classic Omloop Het Nieuwsbladafter beating the German Nils Politt (UAE) at the finish line, after 202.2 kilometers between the Belgian towns of Ghent and Ninove, with the Belgian Wout van Aert (Visma-Lease) in third place.

After twelve climbs and nine cobbled sections in which none of the escapes were successful, Tratnik and Politt did manage to open a gap in the last ten kilometers.

The 34-year-old Slovenian followed the German in the final hundred meters and took advantage of his wear and tear to take a victory, which he described as the biggest of his career.

Once the men’s race was over, the feminine classicwhere the veteran has won Marianne Vos (Visma-Lease), after completing a route of 127.1 kilometers between the towns of Ghent and Ninove.

The cyclist from the Netherlands has managed to win at the finish line after completing the last kilometers with Lotte Kopecky (SD Worx-Protime), Elisa Longo Borghini (Lidl-Trek) and Shirin Van Anrooij (Lidl-Trek).

A minute later another group arrived, consisting of Thalita de Jong, Demi Vollering, Katarzyna Niewiadoma and Puck Pieterse.
