Former football player Nienhuis said that Promes will receive normal treatment in prison
Former goalkeeper of the Dutch “Groningen” and “Sparta” Leonard Nienhuis, who became a warden in one of the prisons in Venhuizen, described the future of the Moscow “Spartak” striker Quincy Promes in prison. His words are quoted by De Telegraaf.
Nienhuis said that if the Spartak legionnaire ends up in a correctional facility, he will receive normal treatment, like other convicts. “In any case, Promes knows that it’s difficult to get past me,” the former goalkeeper added.
On February 14, an Amsterdam court sentenced Promes in absentia to six years in prison. According to investigators, in 2019, the forward was involved in transporting a large shipment of cocaine that belonged to Surinamese drug trafficker Piet Wartel.
In June 2023, a Dutch court sentenced Promes in absentia to 18 months in prison. The attacker was found guilty of involvement in the armed attack and stabbing of his cousin.
